Sam visited and assessed the repairs required for my driveway, where old concrete had broken up and levels had changed. He gave me a fair quote in writing and booked my job in without delay. He worked methodically and neatly over two days, being joined by a colleague on the second day. They did a great job, vastly improving the appearance of the driveway as well as improving safety, whilst saving me the expense of a total driveway replacement. Excellent job.

This was our third development project. The work took 7 months to complete in total and involved a large kitchen / diner extension and ground floor renovation. Sam and his team did a fantastic job, quality of workmanship very high. Very organised and found solutions to the inevitable problems along the way. A pleasure to have around and would highly recommend. Probably not the cheapest but a premium builder and you get what you pay for.

The Mid Surrey team were extremely professional and courteous to work with. We had a young baby and were living 30min away, and it was great to have a reliable team who were quick, responsive and also responsible enough that we could visit the site only once or twice a week in certain stages, and be confident that work was continuing on schedule. The quality of the work they did was very high and we are very happy with our home. In fact we have asked them to come back and quote on a follow on project.

Sam, Clint and the rest of the Mid-Surrey team did a truly fantastic job. From the start – digging out a mountain of soggy clay and old slabs – to the finish – using state of the art grouting, they took the greatest care over the detail of design and finish. They never failed to clean up before going home every day, which made it much better for us, and for them the next morning too, of course, and were unfailingly cheerful and polite even in the worst weather. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for – a first class result which we love, better even that we had hoped for at the start.

Mid Surrey Renovators completed renovated our home including building a two storey extension. This included, moving the front door, new windows, moving the stairs, rewiring and re plumbing. The works took 11 months to complete and came in on schedule. Sam Cullingham (the owner of Mid Surrey Renovators) is an honest builder and very transparent with the budget/costs. He worked well with our architect and kept us (the client) informed every step along the way. I have already recommended Mid Surrey Renovators to several of my friends and would recommend them to all using Checkatrade.

After meeting with many builders, it was obvious Sam would be the right choice. He understood what we envisaged, produced a quote including options to help with our budget, everything to expect, right down to door handles! His team are a pleasant, hard working bunch. On time and doing a full day’s work. Work commenced May ’12, completed as promised, in time for us to move back in for Christmas. With all large projects, expect the ‘unexpected’. Sam took the ‘unexpected’ on board and found the solution. Sam listens and delivers to a high standard. We would most definitely use him again!

When we approached Mid Surrey Renovators Ltd we outlined our key requirements which were programme and budget. Sam and his team met and surpassed these requirements with the added bonus of a high quality product. Sam is a hands on project manager and has great communication skills, involving us on the translation of the architects and our designs and hopes, to provide a build able and high quality scheme. In the end Sam and his team took on significant additional items such as patio, path and paving, finishes and carpentry, bringing various colleagues and partners to the job, who all muck in and provide the same degree of high quality workmanship, care and pride in what they were doing. On many occasions where problems or issues were found on site MSR and the team focussed on options to provide us with various solutions which were right and not to take the easy way out. I would thoroughly recommend Sam and his team at Mid Surrey Renovations to those who nearly know what they want, and need a patient and skilled builder to realise their dreams.

Following a two month renovation by Mid-Surrey Renovators, turning an indoor swimming pool into living space, Mid-Surrey Decorators took over to complete the job by way of decorating. This involved painting the newly built bookcases and cupboards together with the painting of the walls, ceilings, etc. The existing sitting room needed careful attention as there was a large, unsightly crack along one wall and a couple of patches of water damage on the ceiling. All of this was handled with patience and great attention to detail by Graham, whose calm approach was to be applauded, and overseen by Sam, who could not have been more helpful. All in all a splendid result from both companies. During the forty years I have been a house-owner I have not come across a company more professional, personable coupled with excellent workmanship. I cannot recommend they highly enough.

I cannot praise highly enough Sam and his team. Sam was very patient in the run-up to letting the contract – it took six months and he was always available to come and discuss what I had in mind (and when I changed my mind). Once Mid-Surrey started work it was obvious that it was a truly professional team pulled together expertly by Sam. They executed a difficult project with true professionalism and good humour. Their work was exemplary and it was a pleasure to have each and every one of them on site for the two months plus it took to complete the job. Bruce, Clint, Roland, Pete and Darrel all contributed their individual expertise and Sam was adept in co-ordinating their input in order that the contract ran seamlessly. All in all an expert team who left me with two beautiful new rooms: I would recommend them without hesitation. Sam must be acknowledged for his management skills and for assembling such a competent and personable team. Very many thanks to them all.

Company came recommended based on quality, price and overall satisfaction. I can now see why! Sam and his team have produced for my family a stunning raised brick wall patio – 4m long x 3.4m wide x 1.2m tall – with Indian sandstone slabs based around my original plan. With their ideas the concept changed slightly to include an inset set of steps – within the patio – to ground level and continuation of a lower flat level and pathway linking the left hand side access way to the patio area. All done in matching sandstone slabs. Much better than my original plan of just a walkway. A gravel area for potted plants was also included to tidy up the existing area. The slabs have also been continued across the back of the house – inset into the lawn for mowing onto – thus linking the new set of steps and small retaining garden wall built by the team on the right hand side of the house. The total effect is superb and means low maintenance from now on. The teams attention to detail from the correct brick choice, to match the house ones, and pointing has already been admired by my first few visitors. A big thanks to Sam, Clint, Bruce and the others from Mid Surrey that did this construction and the tidy up. First class al round!

From the moment I made contact with Sam via the Checkatrade website I had confidence in his ability and trust in his professionalism. The 2 lads who carried out the work were very conscientious and tidy. They were on time both days they worked, and completed the job to a very high standard. I really appreciated that they went to my next door neighbour’s and cleaned up any mess that was created there. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Mid Surrey Renovators Ltd and would certainly use them again myself.

The work undertaken was extremely thorough and neat. The decorator was extremely polite and very helpful. At the end of each day everything was left very tidy and the progress he made was obvious. Complete house renovation following a water tank flood.

Returning home from holiday to a flooded house was stressful enough but made worse when the insurance company informed me that they would expect me to ‘project manage’ the repair / renovation work. The property required a complete overhaul following the damaged caused by the flood. It would require organising plumbers, electricians, carpenters, joiners, plasters…etc – a daunting tasks. I approached Mid Surrey Renovators following a recommendation and was immediately impressed with the professionalism and attentive approach. Sam reassured me that he could handle all aspects of the job and had a quote to me within 24 hours. The insurers were so impressed that they were happy to proceed without a comparative quote. The execution of the work was flawless. Mid Surrey dealt with every aspect of the renovation and project managed it with the optimum efficiency allowing us to return to the property in the quickest possible time. I was given regular updates on the progress of the work and Sam was always available to talk to if I had any questions or concerns. This is not the type of service normally associated with the building trade. The standard of the workmanship was of the highest quality and we are now living in a property that far exceeds that pre-flood. Every aspect of the job was faultless. I would highly recommend Mid Surrey Renovators and would be happy to speak to anyone personally who is considering doing so.
